Most of us want peace. But how many of us want it so badly that we’re prepared to put our lives on the line in the world’s most dangerous places?

That’s what Shantigarbha Warren does. A professional mediator and workshop facilitator, he goes into war-torn areas to run healing and reconciliation events. When he’s not doing that, he teaches empathy and communication skills in Bristol and around the UK.

The common factor in his work is teaching people to connect.

“We’re all connected at the level of our basic human needs,” he says.

“Everything we do is to meet these basic needs. However, we’re so connected that nobody’s needs get met unless everybody’s needs get met. When we connect at this level, solutions find us.”

Shantigarbha’s talk will help us build resilience and contribute compassionately to the world.

“We often struggle to bridge the gap between our inner world and the outer world, including of other people. The Tree of Compassionate Connection shows how to bridge that gap, through rootedness and resilience. It also offers a surprising new light on the importance of challenge.”

“Thank you for leading such an inspiring and thought-provoking weekend workshop. I couldn’t have imagined just how much I would get out of it before I did the course and just how utterly compelling and life-changing the approach can be.”
